Interesting Statistics on Cosmetic Procedures for Youthful Skin

According to the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, the number of nonsurgical procedures performed in the U.S. (this includes Botox injections, wrinkle fillers, laser treatments and chemical peels) has increased dramatically 726 percent since 1997.

Of the nearly 11.5 million cosmetic procedures performed in 2005, the latest statistics available, indicate 81 percent were nonsurgical, with Botox injections alone accounting for more than 3 million of these procedures.

Today, the demographic for noninvasive procedures is now significantly younger than it was back when plastic surgery most often referred to face-lifts.

Now, people between 35 to 50 years "young" account for nearly 1/2 of all cosmetic procedures performed in the U.S, and only 24 percent of all individuals are between the ages of 51 to 64.

Interestingly, according to a recent survey by the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery, 20 percent of the american population plans to have some type of cosmetic procedure performed.
